Can someone please explain to me the liberal obsession with taxing the “rich?”

Our ballooning deficit is not due to runaway entitlements, the ongoing expense of two overseas conflicts, and general fiscal mismanagement. No, it’s because Bush gave tax cuts to the rich.

Now when a lib talks about giving a tax cut, his point of view makes “giving” the more important part of that concept. A tax cut is a GIFT. The recipient of the cut, particularly THE RICH, is not keeping his/her OWN money, but is instead receiving a kind of rebate from the Feds!

This is lunacy. The government is supposed to work for us, not the other way around, and that includes rich people.

The government governs with our consent, not the other way around. So, this whole mentality of the federal government never having to learn to do without, scale back, stop/curtail/reduce/restrict spending is amazing to me.

But here’s what really throws me, I saw a “MoveOn.org” ad where a supposedly high income woman exhorted Barak Obama to raise those taxes because “she doesn’t need the money!” Well, if that’s the case, I think I could figure a better way to spend it than send it down the black hole of the government well. If she really doesn’t need it, and she insists on rewarding waste and profligacy, I’m sure the Treasury would accept her check. Somehow, I’m sure she’s not writing that check. Which comes to the point. She really wants someone else to get taxed. And that sums up liberal think. It really is about taking SOMEONE ELSE’S money.

Here’s a little humorous ditty for your enjoyment.

Listen to Barney Frank‘s words and observe the attitude he has about taxing the rich! Amazing.

By the way, Barney, Keynes was no economic genius, he was a civil servant, a sometime tutor and an academe. Unless you’ve had to make your way in the give and take of a real market (and Keynes never did) you’re just a theorist. Some theories never work out in practice, no matter how pretty they sound.
